I guess I am looking for his definition of "authentic selfhood". At first reading, I would have to disagree with him in light of my belief that we should find our identity in Christ. Authentic selfhood sounds almost "new age" like... finding truth and identity from within rather than from the Creator. Self joy is not my goal... pleasing God is. And then, in that a lot of what he's talking about... self joy, meeting the needs of others, etc. will be richer and more meaningful.
