We were up at 5:30am this morning. Uggh! God isn’t even up that early. A friend replied to that assertion that God is a nightowl to which I heartily agree.
While waiting for our connecting flight in Salt Lake to New Orleans, I was walking back through the terminal looking for Starbucks. On my way back I noticed something I’d missed the first time. Hanging over the landing of the escalators were models of Wright Brothers-era flying machines powered by bicycles. We had just flown from Twin Falls at a majestic clip of over 500 mph. It is hard to imagine the early thrill of being one of the people to get to fly for the first time. I am a big fan of awe. I think we need to be more amazed of the world we live in whether we are sailing through the air at 500mph or peddling into the sunset.
