My recent music list

November 5th, 2005 · 1 Comment

I’m trying an experiment. Off to the left, you’ll see a list of the most recent songs I’ve listened to in iTunes. This list is dynamically updated… it’ll show you the last 10 songs I listened to recently, except, I think, when I haven’t listened recently. So, it’s fairly live.

The reason it’s an experiment, is that it is sort of like listening to my music in a room of people. What you listen to in your headphones might be a little different then what you listen to at a party. I’m noticing that I sort of consciously think about what people will see when I choose my songs and artists. I have _very_ eclectic tastes, which will probably surprise some people when they see what I’m listening to. So we’ll see if I can survive this like experiment in exhibitionism.

The inspiration for this was this post on a personal status page on Merlin Mann’s 43folders.com website. Since posting, he has started a status page at Merlin’s Status Page. I’m thinking to create something like this, but I need to decide what stuff I’d add.

OK, I’ve got my laptop running in a stage of “I just plugged my ethernet into you so that I could update you. Now after working for two seconds, you want to end the connection? Why’s that?” I have no idea yet. I even went and unplugged my etherent from mydesktop. But I do have sound and video half-working.
OHH, SUSE HAS XINE!!! THIS IS GOOD, THIS IS REALLY REALLY GOOD!
